Around the Lake
-
Picnic Rock
The first time we crossed paths was on this hike. This is a quick hike on the North Shore of the lake that offers great views of Lake Tahoe once you make it to the top.
-
Chamber's Landing - Pier Bar
Arriving by boat during a beautiful summer day and drinking a cold Chambers Crush is *peak* Lake Tahoe summer vibes.
-
Gar Woods
A 10 minute jaunt from Tahoe City brings you to this lakeside hot spot. You can stop in for drinks at the bar, but if you want to sit down for a meal we recommend you make a reservation.
-
Bridgetender
Fancy some bar food and beers next to the Truckee River?
-
Pete 'n Peter's
Our favorite dive bar. 'nuff said.
-
Sunnyside
Snack on the best fried zucchini sticks while sucking down a yummy mai tai on a lakeside patio.
-
Syd's Bagelry
Stellar breakfast sandwiches in case you're in need of a good base for Saturday shenanigans.
-
Shadyside
Yes, sounds just like Sunnyside, and yes, looks like it is in the same location but this is in fact, a different place. Come for casual Mexican food and killer cocktails. Location of the Welcome Party on Friday.
-
West Shore Market
Great place to grab quick snacks, beers, wine, and sandwiches. Also has coffee and sweet treats.
-
Sugar Pine Bakery
Best bakery on the West Shore. Please disregard the feeling that you are driving into a junk yard/industrial park when you arrive.
-
Emerald Bay State Park
Sits at the south end of the West Shore. The only inlet on the lake and offers a plethora of hiking and mountain biking trails.

Get out on the lake
Tahoe by boat is one of the most unique experiences in the Sierras. Cruise over to Sand Harbor or pull up to one of the lakeside restaurants for a drink. There are a number of marinas and boat rental services on the lake that can provide boats with or without captains.
-
Truckee
Go spend part of the day in this cute mountain town that has a number of shops, restaurants, and bars. Truckee is about a 20 minute drive from Tahoe City. If you're looking for good pizza & pasta stop by Great Gold. In the mood for high-end dining? Try Trokay. Dive bar more your vibe, check out Tourist Club. Coffee Bar is great for a caffeine pick-me-up or lite bite.
-
Donner Lake
Lake Tahoe's much smaller cousin located in Truckee. Go and sunbathe on one of the 27 public docs that are scattered along the northside of the lake. Fun fact, Alex and her girlfriends lived here for a couple weeks in 2020!
-
Palisades (fka Squaw Valley)
Home to the 1960 Winter Olympics and also where we spend a majority of our time in the winters. You can take a nice wander through the valley floor, meander through the village at Palisades, or take the Aerial Tram up to 8,200' to get impeccable views of the Sierras and the lake (are you catching on to the trend?).
-
Truckee River Float
Go rent a raft from Truckee River Rafting and take the 2-3 hour float down the Truckee River. Great way to cool down on a hot day. You'll end at River Ranch where you can grab a River Ranch Rum Runner.

Hikes
There are numerous hikes in the Tahoe Basin. Check out All Trails or give Google a search!
